Welcome!
Have you ever been at the fill in the public location of your choice here and been witness to parents using some of the most uncommon sense parenting techniques? Things like rewarding a child for eating a dinner they love at meal time, threatening a child that you’ll leave them at the park if they don’t come with you right now, buying them the toy in the checkout line because “it’s easier” than listening to them whine and complain about it? What ever happened to discipline; expecting good manners rather than rewarding them; holding children accountable for their actions; teaching children respect for themselves and others?
Common Mom’s goal is to provide a common mom’s outlook on parenting and a place for mom’s and dad’s to share stories and common sense parenting advice and tips that have become uncommon in this new generation.
Am I an expert in child behavior? Nope. Am I a licensed pediatrician/child therapist/super nanny? Absolutely not. What I am is a typical thirty-something working mother of two beautiful children with a wonderful husband who has a busy travel schedule - I am the Common Mom.
