Today, I’m annoyed. Things annoy me from time-to-time . . . but after I blab about ‘em to a friend or Hubby, they can go away.
But for the past two days I’ve been really annoyed. I came to work yesterday angry - angry that people have to make things so friggin’ difficult. Then I had a great time at work - apparently being angry makes me go to town on my projects.
I thought I was over it. But today, I’m annoyed again. Why is it so hard for people to just make a decision and deal with it? Make a friggin’ decision already!!! Really, how many decisions have you made in your life, on a whim or after much painful and careful thought, that have totally backfired? Why can’t you just say “this is the way it is, deal with it, and move on.” Not everything has to be so difficult. Why does simple and easy seem to be such a bad thing these days?
And if you make a commitment, stick to it. One thing I cannot stand is when someone makes a commitment and breaks it.
So anyway, have I mentioned that I’m annoyed today?
Thank you for your ears
Four ski/snowboard season passes for the 2008/2009 season. I guess we’re committed! We’ve lived here for 12 years, and this past February was the 3rd time we’d gone to the mountains skiing, and I guess we loved boarding. My tailbone is still sore and hubby is still nursing his fractured wrist from that fateful Easter Day boarding excursion. Even with that, we felt the need to get season passes after 1 lesson and 2 months of snowboarding
On a related note, they have to take your picture for the pass. I did not know that. I had a baseball hat on because we were working in the yard. They made me take it off. I have bangs. I looked HOT!
On an unrelated note, the Toyota dealership is just blocks from the place we bought our ski/snowboard passes. So we drove through the lot - Princess hadn’t seen the vehicle we’re saving up for yet, which of course was an excuse for Hubby and I to caress the vehicle, play with it, and comb its hair. We’re trying to keep it nice and happy for when we can actually buy it
They may not remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.
Ahhh - yummy! Up until about 1 year ago, I had tried sushi only once in my life . . . it was 7 years ago when Hubby and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our anniversary. I HATED it! And I’d been turned off ever since. About a year ago, I finally agreed to go to a sushi joint for lunch with some friends from work. I ordered the combination plate, with COOKED terriyaki beef, rice, tempura, and a bit of California Roll - and ate it with a fork.
Boy have I come a long way since then! Apparently, I just needed to have the right KIND of sushi - and my friend, Queen Taunya, usually knows what I will and will not like. I’ve tasted other people’s real sushi while I continued to eat my cooked meal. I even tried using chop sticks! QT bought me chop stick holders - well, OK, she bought them for my kids, but they work for adults, too, and are only slighly less embarrassing than using a fork
About a month ago, I took the plunge and actually ordered only actual real dead sushi for my entire meal - a spicy tuna roll with a soy wrap - AND ate it with chop sticks, WITHOUT using the holder. YUMMY! And I tried QT’s Yummy Roll, which is definitely appropriately named. Now, there are 4 items that I know I like and can order . . . Yummy Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll with a Soy Wrap, California Roll, and Las Vegas Roll (my least favorite).
And TODAY, I took the ultimate plunge. Hubby and I dropped the kids off at a friend’s house after soccer for our monthly Kid Swap. We both have lots of work to do, so really don’t have anything planned except doing that all evening. BUT, I suggested that we go have sushi for lunch before heading home. Me, Moia . . . I suggested we go to sushi. So hubby and I had a quiet lunch of sushi on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Ahhhhhhh - yummola!
How far I’ve come in the past year
OK - I’m a big fat loser. I did NOT get around to posting answers to these questions and those that I received via e-mail. Soooooo, here goes again . . . ask me a question, and I’ll answer. This time for real - apparently I got really a couple weeks ago
Hello all
My next post will be #300 (I’m not sure why that’s a milestone, but it is) - but I have a severe lack of anything to write lately - which is obvious. So, I need your help! I’m going with the all popular “Ask me a question” request. Ask me a question, and I’ll answer it. I’ll post answers to the questions next Tuesday or Wednesday, April 15th or 16th.
So have it! What have you always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask
The 3rd Installment of our weekend on the move.
Getting ready to head into the waterpark! They could NOT contain themselves. We only had about 30 minutes before we had to leave for the baseball game, so they got as much fun in as they could

This huge play structure was cool! All kinds of fun water surprises. See the bucket on top? It holds about 1000 gallons of water - and periodically dumps that water onto anyone standing below it.

Here they are waiting for the water.
Â
Here it comes!!!
Â
I swear, they’re under there somewhere! That’s a LOT of water!
Â
Warming up in the hot tub after getting all that cool water dumped on them. They LOVED the hot tub. It was for kids, so not too hot. Only 3 feet deep and they had a blast!

Dude relaxes with a snack. I keep telling him he needs to loosen up his goggles, but he refuses

Keira got one last picture with the bear on her way out of the waterpark before we headed to the airport.

We had a wonderful time on our trip - it was worth the time and the money
We had a great time on all the waterslides, in the wave pool, and playing in all the other water. I highly recommend it for anyone with kids of all ages.
We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge! It was truly worth it - I will get around to posting about it . . . but this made me giggle. As Dude and I were hanging out in the hot tub Tuesday morning before we left while waiting for Hubby and Princess to finish breakfast and join us, this is the conversation that ensued . . .
Dude: Hey Mom. Did you get a picture of that big water structure over there that we can walk around on with all the fun stuff?
Me: Yup.
D: And did you take a picture of that huge bucket on top?
M: Yup.
D: And did you get a picture of me and Keira standing under the bucket before the water dumped out?
M: Yup.
D: And how about when all that water came crashing down and there was so much that you couldn’t even see us . . . did you get a picture of that?
M: Yup.
D: And what about after, when we were standing there totally soaking wet? Did you get a picture of that?
M: Yup.
D: Good. Because that would make a really cool scrapbook page! You could start with cutting out some water to put across the bottom. Then you could put the pictures in order across the page so people could see how huge it was and how much water there was and how you couldn’t even see us through all the water and then how wet we were. That would be really cool.
Ahhhhhh - I’m teaching the boy well
