Sushi
Ahhh - yummy! Up until about 1 year ago, I had tried sushi only once in my life . . . it was 7 years ago when Hubby and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our anniversary. I HATED it! And I’d been turned off ever since. About a year ago, I finally agreed to go to a sushi joint for lunch with some friends from work. I ordered the combination plate, with COOKED terriyaki beef, rice, tempura, and a bit of California Roll - and ate it with a fork.
Boy have I come a long way since then! Apparently, I just needed to have the right KIND of sushi - and my friend, Queen Taunya, usually knows what I will and will not like. I’ve tasted other people’s real sushi while I continued to eat my cooked meal. I even tried using chop sticks! QT bought me chop stick holders - well, OK, she bought them for my kids, but they work for adults, too, and are only slighly less embarrassing than using a fork 
About a month ago, I took the plunge and actually ordered only actual real dead sushi for my entire meal - a spicy tuna roll with a soy wrap - AND ate it with chop sticks, WITHOUT using the holder. YUMMY! And I tried QT’s Yummy Roll, which is definitely appropriately named. Now, there are 4 items that I know I like and can order . . . Yummy Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll with a Soy Wrap, California Roll, and Las Vegas Roll (my least favorite).
And TODAY, I took the ultimate plunge. Hubby and I dropped the kids off at a friend’s house after soccer for our monthly Kid Swap. We both have lots of work to do, so really don’t have anything planned except doing that all evening. BUT, I suggested that we go have sushi for lunch before heading home. Me, Moia . . . I suggested we go to sushi. So hubby and I had a quiet lunch of sushi on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Ahhhhhhh - yummola!
How far I’ve come in the past year

I do not like Sushi. Maybe it’s because it’s uncooked- you know- raw? The tought makes me gag. Maybe someday I’ll be like you and I’ll be able to eat it.
Ya know…I’ve NEVER tried Sushi! Don’t know why. My husband loves it and I’ve just never been tempted to even TRY it. I may have to do something about that!
