My daughter at 5 was most definitely princess oriented and she'd have done the same thing. Now at 7, it's more of a crap shoot, though she does love dress up. My favorite story of her mixed interests involve her first playdate with a boy in her kindergarden class. She was dressed up in her finest princess wear. They were playing 'dragon' or some such game. The boy says, "Ok, move over I'll go kill the dragon for you." My daughter says, "No way are you killing that dragon yourself, give me a sword, I am coming with you." I loved watching her hike up her skirts and run around without letting them impede her at all!

They always end up getting what they want, don't they? Especially if there's a grandma in the vicinity!

Thank you for sharing that. She looks very pretty in the dress. I wish I could have been there. I like a girl (woman) who knows what she wants!

It also works for the kids going in and out! Reggie used to tap on the sliding glass door when he had to go out - and want to come back in. So when he was out for extended periods of time - there was a lot of tapping going on.
