Brilliant or Crazy?

You make the call . . .

It’s a new year - woo hoo! With all my contract jobs and volunteer stuff, I’ve basically got full-time work hours. I’m still volunteering in Princess’s classroom every Monday morning, co-leading her Daisy troup every Monday after school until 4:30 p.m., and acting as the Information Officer for the local Little League.

Princess and Dude both wanted to do tennis lessons again. I told them they couldn’t both do it because I’m not going there 4 nights a week (they each would have 2 nights a week - but different nights - suck!). So Keira decided she wanted to do gymnastics again. YAY! I was happy about that because I could have her gymnastics on the same day as one of Dude’s tennis lessons and stagger the times. So that would be 3 nights a week out . . . Monday Daisy meeting, Tuesday tennis and gymnastics, Thursday tennis.

Then, a friend told us about some skating lessons their sons taking on Monday nights. It’s a beginner hockey clinic for kids ages 3-10. They supply all the equipment - it’s one hour on Monday nights for 5 weeks. I mentioned it to Dude because he really likes these two friends and has wanted to learn how to play hockey (even though he knows he’s not actually going to get to play hockey in leagues and stuff). He was all for it!

So, I signed him up. And I moved Princess to a Monday night gymnastics class.

So, Mondays look like this . . .

  • 9:00-11:00 - volunteer in Princess’s classroom
  • 3:00-4:30 - lead Princess’s Daisy troop meetings
  • 5:30-6:30 - Princess gymnastics
  • 6:45-7:45 - Dude hockey clinic

So ya - Mondays are WAY full, but the rest of the week? Nothing after work/school. I reduced my after work activities from 3-4 nights a week to 1 night a week. And, the activity night is on the day I don’t work for money. Personally, I think, it’s brilliant planning :-)

What do you think? Brilliant or Crazy?
