I went to meet with a guy this a.m. . . . we talked for about an hour about this and that and writing and editing and admin and the future. I signed my name a couple times. He gave me a coin the size of a silver dollar, but a bit thicker, smoother, and heavier. It’s got the number 58 on it. We shook hands and agreed to meet again on Friday - Friday the 13th.
Apparently that means I have a job! I am the 58th employee he’s hired. I start Friday. I will be a contractor working Thursdays and Friday, no more than 20 hours a week for now. I even came home with a binder and some projects to get started on!
I’m very excited about my part-time gig 10 minutes from my house
And the Thurs-Fri schedule is perfect since Mon-Wed evenings are taken up with volleyball (me), soccer (Princess), and baseball (Dude). I think it’ll work out perfectly - get me out of the house to use my brain, allow me to earn a little money, and give me some extra time with the kiddos over the summer. Hopefully, this fall some time around the time the kids go back to school, it’ll turn into more hours, more pay, and more writing/editing.
But for now a big WOO HOO is coming from the house of Common Mom
Another “woohoo for Common Mom” from Smurfland! =)
Congrats…sounds like the best of both worlds to me!
Congratulations. I am so excited for you. Great hours and a small company! I am so proud of you and happy for you. I need that type of enthusiasm in my life. My job is getting old! I need a new challenge! Now, you can celebrate with the tickets I gave you.
Love
Sue
