Does anyone else think A Christmas Story is the best Christmas movie on the planet? I LOVE that movie!
For the past month Dude and Princess have both been saying they are going to ask Santa for a Nintendo DS - black for Dude and pink for Princess. I’m good with that.
So we go to Santa’s Workshop when Grandma and Grandpa are here. The first stop we make is at Santa’s house. We walk in and are waiting patiently and I say to Princess “So, what are you going to ask for.”
She looks me in the eye and says with all the confidence in the world “A bunny rabbit.”
WTH!?
I can just see her after sitting on Santa’s lap and asking for a bunny rabbit . . . walking out the door, suddenly realizing what she’s done . . . the look of panic in her eye . . . “What the hell did I just do? A friggin’ bunny rabbit?!” . . . clawing her way back into Santa’s house to tell him what she REALLY wants! And it’s something that she won’t even shoot her eye out with 
I suggested that maybe we let Dude talk to Santa first. While he’s talking to Santa, I ask Princess why she said a bunny rabbit, and she says “Because I couldn’t remember what I wanted and there’s a cute bunny rabbit up on that shelf behind Santa, so I thought I’d ask for that.”
I quietly reminded her that she’s been saying she wants a Nintendo DS for the longest time. Her eyes lit up and she said “Oh ya! NOW I remember!”
She gets on Santa’s lap and says “I’d like a pink Nintendo DS if you can make one. I do NOT want a bunny rabbit.”
Whew! Catastrophe avoided!
That is hysterical!! The fact that she would tell him she did NOT want a bunny rabbit…what a rip!!! We got 5 inches of snow last night and another inch or so to come today and it is blowing out. Barely made to work as the roads weren’t plowed in the country yet when I left and the snow was drifted over the road really bad on the curve by the railroad track but I made it. Have a good one… Love…Mom
That’s funny! Because Taylor has been talking to Santa since September giving him a list (I told her she could talk to him anytime - I then I ask her what she asked for). Megan kept saying she was going to ask Santa for a computer. I said she could ask but Santa doesn’t always grant all wishes. So what do they end up asking for - Megan for a Barbie and Taylor for a unicorn Webkinz. Hey, all the better for me but I have no idea where those came from! I even reminded them of their previous lists. So Santa might have to pull those out again. Or not. Like they really need more stuff!
