Rain Rain Go Away!

We’ve had some WONDERFUL rain the past 4 days - totally out of character for here. It rained for 4 days straight . . . that’s a lot for a county that gets 360 days of sun each year (yes, I’m serious). I planted some flowers on Sunday morning and raked a TON of pine needles and bagged them . . . then it RAINED, and rained . . . and rained . . . and rained . . . and was cold . . . and rained some more.

Poor Dude was so disappointed . . . these were his first days off of school for summer break and he couldn’t even enjoy outside . . . our hiking day got cancelled on Tuesday (it snowed where we were going to go hiking!), which REALLY bummed him out. Yesterday he decided to go out and play in the cold rain just so he could get outside But TODAY - FINALLY our plans didn’t get cancelled! It rained in the afternoon, and rained HARD at my house, but the trailhead was just far enough way that the trail was totally dry

After work, we meet some friends at the trailhead and took a nice 6 mile bike ride - we rode 3 miles to a park, had a wonderful picnic dinner in the shadows of the foothills, enjoyed messing around climbing trees by the lake, and rode the 3 miles back to the car. It was SOOOOO nice to get outside in some great weather!

Got some great weather on tap for the weekend - baseball games, playing outside, and getting the camper ready for our first camping trip of the summer. Can’t WAIT for that! Heading to the mountains . . . s’mores, hiking, biking, nature, campfires . . . looking forward to some great family time
